Over the years I’ve witnessed some wonderful and memorable wedding traditions but none stand out more than Jessica and Tiem’s. Traditional Vietnamese weddings consist of an extensive set of ceremonies: asking permission to receive the bride, receiving the bride at her house, and bringing the bride to the groom’s house. The vibrancy of Vietnamese culture enlivens everything: gifts in the form of elaborately decorated lacquer boxes covered in red cloth, tea ceremonies, dress changes, Áo dài outfits, mesmerising dragon dancing.
Reception: Peninsula, Docklands.
Music: Band of Horses – “No One’s Gonna Love You”
